Nikko July 21, The shrines and temples of Nikko, together with their natural surroundings, have for centuries been a sacred site known for its architectural and decorative masterpieces. They are closely associated with the history of the Tokugawa Shoguns.  There are 103 Shrines Buildings or Structures, below are 12 example photographs.

July 23, making our way to our two hundred and fifty-year-old historical lodgings 36.734665, 138.432852 at Shibu Onsen Village next to Jigokudani Yaen-Koen snow monkey park  5 - 10hrs depending on route, we have three different routes to choose from; we will explain each route the evening before departure.  Each one of the three offers a different jewel; all three have brilliant rolling mountain landscapes.

July 25 - 26 Depart Shibu Onsen the morning of the 25th after breakfast, Mt. Fuji 2 1/2 hrs drive direct, but first stopping over at Matsumoto Castle 36.2387° N, 137.9690° E built in 1504 used by the samurai until 1868. AT Mt. Fuji 35.3606° N, 138.7278° E we will explore all five lakes, comprising of •Yamanaka 35.4186° N, 138.8775° E  •Kawaguchi 35.5171° N, 138.7518° E •Saiko 35.4991° N, 138.6865° E  Shoji 35.4902° N, 138.6076° E and •Motosu 35.4632° N, 138.5838° E lakes. •Station 5 35.394547, 138.732510 is not on our itinerary, but it’s an option at 2,300 meters a great bird’s eye view. The Sea of Trees taking a short hike on a well laid out trail. After sunset on the 26 at Mt. Fuji farewell dinner then head to Haneda Airport.
